The Diya Decoration and Diya Coloring Competition along with the Diwali Celebration was conducted on 17th October 2025 at Mount Carmel School during school hours for all the Pre-Primary sections. Children were informed to come dressed in casual attire for the celebration. The school and classrooms were beautifully decorated with lanterns, diyas, and vibrant rangoli designs at the entrance. The day began with the Diya Decoration Competition, where children brought diyas from home and decorated them in class under the supervision of their teachers. The little ones displayed great enthusiasm and creativity by adorning their diyas with beads, bindis, and colorful stickers. The best three diyas from each class were awarded certificates by Fr. Pawan. For Nursery, a Diya Colouring Activity was conducted, while Rangoli with flowers was made by the Nursery section, paper design activity by Jr. Kg, and lantern making with chart paper by Sr. Kg. After the activities, teachers unveiled a special box containing gifts for all the children. Sweets were distributed, and everyone exchanged cheerful Diwali greetings. Teachers also explained the significance of Diwali, displayed pictures, and discussed safety measures to be followed while bursting crackers using the panel board. Fun games were played, and the children thoroughly enjoyed the celebration. As it was the last day of the first academic term, teachers wished the students joyful holidays and expressed excitement to welcome them back for the new semester. The Diwali celebration was a wonderful way to promote cultural awareness, creativity, and festive spirit among the children.
